Little Saint James Pavilion Expedition
experimentNo. 0038categoryRides & explorationrecordingpendingdataCC BY 4.0
The fly and five other flies arrive by motorboat at a reference-based reconstruction of the striped pavilion on Little Saint James and enter it. The model also includes an underground room with 24 rendered camera feeds; this room is not documented in the cited sources.

Recording pending publication. Follow along for the release.
Setup
- Ten stages over 170 seconds: approach, landing, flight to the pavilion, the entrance, entry, the interior, a hidden panel, the descent, the monitor wall and feed inspection; the last four have no documented source.
- The exterior restores the earlier ribbed gold dome documented in March 2015 aerial footage; closer details follow five public-domain FBI photographs attributed to the August 2019 search and released in 2025.
- The security booth included in the model, which is not documented in the cited sources, shows 24 separately rendered feeds in a 1536 × 576 atlas, each overlaid with an on-screen label identifying it as a simulated recording.
- Cameras include expedition follow, close fly-follow, an anchored fly POV, aerial, interior, monitor-wall and single-monitor views.
- An optional fully rendered presentation adds ocean, sky and lighting effects to the viewport only.
Measurement
- Retinal-only live input from the fly's eye camera; neural weights remain fixed.
- Fly movement, the boat route and all monitor footage are pre-programmed; display enhancements and feed renders do not change canonical retinal images.
Limitations
- A photographic approximation, not a surveyed model; dimensions, foliage, statuary, shoreline and landing position are estimates.
- Combining the 2019 photographs, which show no dome, with the earlier dome is an explicit cross-date reconstruction.
- The break-in, sliding panel, underground passage, security booth, monitor wall and all recorded fly scenes are included in the model without a documented source; no real security footage, people, victims or criminal events are depicted.
