Recording pending publication. Follow along for the release.

Setup

  • Nine flies: two competitors, a referee and six spectators.
  • Nine stages over 64 seconds: introductions, blue windup and slap, reset, red windup and slap, recovery, another exchange and finish.
  • The articulated foreleg reaches the opposite head; a scoreboard counts completed turns.
  • Contact and corner cameras. Replay exchange begins at blue's windup.

Measurement

  • Retinal-only neural windows during playback, with fixed weights.
  • Contact, recoil and turns are pre-programmed.

Limitations

  • There is no injury model, gore, judged winner or competitive fighting model. The scoreboard counts turns, not damage.
