Fly Dance Class
experimentNo. 0024categoryFilm & mediarecordingpendingdataCC BY 4.0
The fly attends a dance class in a wood-floor studio, following an instructor through stance, abdomen isolation and bouncing before an eight-count routine and a solo.

Recording pending publication. Follow along for the release.
Setup
- Six flies: the subject, an instructor and four classmates.
- Seven stages over 88 seconds: places, stance, abdomen isolation, bounce, eight-count routine, solo and group finish.
- Abdomen segments move through the anatomical rig's pitch and yaw joints while the body crouches and the legs brace. An eight-light count board follows the pre-programmed beat.
- Rear, instructor and side cameras. Practice the routine jumps to the combined sequence.
Measurement
- Retinal-only neural windows during playback, with fixed weights.
- All dance movement is pre-programmed. The beat counter follows the programmed timeline and is not a neural learning score.
Limitations
- The instruction is pre-programmed; no learning takes place in the fixed-weight model.
