The Shining: Six Scenes
experimentNo. 0051categoryFilm & mediarecordingpendingdataCC BY 4.0
The fly and supporting flies move through six silent Overlook scenes, from a tricycle ride through the patterned corridor to the Gold Room bar.

Recording pending publication. Follow along for the release.
Setup
- Six scenes over 214 seconds: the Big Wheel corridor, the twins, the bathroom door, the red elevators, the snowy hedge maze and the Gold Room.
- Twin flies in blue dresses; eight axe blows and a breakaway door; an elevator flood that coats the subject; a maze with false turns, footprints and an exit.
- A Scene selector jumps to any of the six scenes; speed, loop and timeline controls are shared with the other timeline-based activities.
Measurement
- Retinal-only neural windows during playback, with fixed weights.
- The subject's own clothing and coating are excluded from retinal capture, matching the shared fly body exclusion; other flies remain visible.
- All movement follows a pre-programmed, seekable timeline.
Limitations
- Sets and timing are approximations, not frame-accurate replicas. No film footage, soundtrack or dialogue is included.
- The red flood is a programmed wave, splash and coating effect, not a fluid simulation or an injury model.
